Change your bedroom, change your outlook. The bedroom is your safe haven from the outside world, and protects the dreamer. The room that you spend the most time in refreshes you, and you must refresh it. Feel special when you close your eyes. Small changes can change your attitude positively, reflecting on how you view the challenges of the day.

Bedding is the most important thing you can change to create a comfortable nest. Joanie's Tips first tip is a mattress pad, set the stage for the type of firmness you desire. Joanie's Tips favorite is a thick soft down covering. Some people prefer just a basic pad that offers a shield to the mattress. Bed Bath and Beyond online sales & clearance offers great prices, and quality that will last. Sheets are the second purchase that can get quite expensive if you go with thread count, and specialty stores. Joanie's Tips recommends Home goods for sheets, for high quality & thread counts, they always have sale & clearance bins. You must find a store, not an online shopping experience. Target is also a great source for sheets, the new organics are wonderful. I bought birch-tree sheets, and all my guests rave about how unbelievable soft they are. A queen set for under thirty dollars. You can't beat flannel sheets for the cold months. The key with sheets is pick up a set different times during the year, when you come across great sales, so you have a basket of options. Colors are an easy way to change your rooms, so don't buy all white & cream.

Joanie's Tips second tip is pillows. Everyone needs different pillows, for reading in bed, working on your emails, and most important, for sleeping. Any Chiropractor will tell you sleeping posture is most important for alignment. My husband and I bought the expensive posturepedic pillows thinking the firm fitting would be great, our dog sleeps on them, and we always gravitate to the flattest foam pillows we can find. Joanie's pillow picks are TJ Maxx, and JC Penney. Have different pillows available, because everyone sleeps different.

Joanie's Tips third tip is duvet options, colors, fabrics, and patterns. This is the most visually impacting change that you can achieve for less. The largest most noticeable bedspread is easily covered. Duvets can be expensive so you really need to grab one as they pop up throughout the year. If you shop straight retail they can be the equivalent in price to a bedspread. Joanie's favorite tip is Overstocked.Com I found an eggplant duvet for twenty nine dollars, I just love. Make it a goal to get up to four duvets, one for each season. You will look forward to the season changes, and so will your family.

Joanie's Tips fourth tip is your room accessories. Your accessories should compliment your new seasonal colors. Lighting is important in your bedroom, you can always adjust down, but you need to get bright enough for reading. A minimum of two table lamps should be found in your space. Joanie's Tips also promotes a small accent light, more pretty than functional, for relaxation. Lamps don't need to be changed out, unless you are completely reinventing your room, but the lampshades should have at least one change option. Joanie's Tips fifth tip is for a couple of basic accessory changes. First the picture of you, and you significant other, or your kids. Have two different frame options, to tie in with your color of the season. Change the picture, and the arrangement of you accessories. For those wonderful three piece finds from TJ Maxx, don't seek out new. Take your pieces into your garage, and place on a sheet of newspaper, and spray paint them a gorgeous antique silver, or what ever compliments your new space. Silk plants are also great to make a room feel tranquil, and you can always change the planter they come in.
