Rediscover Your Wardrobe

E-mail Print PDF

Rediscover your wardrobe with a closet system that brings back the excitement of discovering your clothes. You should hang your clothes like you wear them. We have all heard the comment "own the look", well you first need to be enthusiastic with the possibilities. Even if you don't have a large wardrobe, organization is key.

All wardrobes need to have an area for shirts, slacks, skirts & dresses, and length hanging for long dresses, jackets, or your over-sized tops. Sweaters should be folded with stack-ables to preserve there shape. No matter what your budget for a organization system, wood hangers are a must, and go on sale at home improvement stores often. Pick a pack up every time you are out, and eventually yo will acquire enough.

Closet systems are least expensive when you do it yourself, purchasing from the home improvement store. Joanie's Tips first tip is to find a Closet Butler with mid line product, and installation included. Everyone's favorite choice would be a deep customized mahogany wood design. Unfortunately, not everyone has a budget for the dream closet. White wood is always neat, and polished looking, of course much more reasonable. Wire systems can provide the same space allocation options for presentation, and are the least expensive of alternatives.

Closet organizers start at under two hundred dollars for do it yourself, for a Closet Butler, with pre cut systems, average closet pricing is approximately one thousand dollars. The plus is you get it back, if you every decide to sell your home. Efficiency that pays with a return on your investment. Custom closet ranges depends on the product used, and how elaborate your system is. Glass closed drawers, versus open shelving is an example of dramatic variances in cost. Joanie's Tips recommends a clothes caddy for what ever system you select; which, is a bar that pulls out that you can place the pieces you choose to wear.

Joanie's Tips second & favorite tip  is color coordinating your wardrobe. This makes visualizing pieces, and accessories together much easier. Purses should be up on a top rack, sweaters on the side shelves, belts on hooks, scarves on hooks, and fun necklaces on hooks. Then your clothing staples, shirts, slacks, skirts & dresses, long dresses & jackets, all color coordinated in there designated areas. The accessory hooks can be purchased at Target, or all home improvements stores. Color coordination is imperative to the closet organizational experience.

Joanie's Tips third tip is shoe display, by rack or shelf method, at the floor level of your closet organizing system. If your choice is mid point with a Closet Butler, or most expensive with a carpenter, shoe cubes are the best. Shoes can't get scuffed, or end up mixed up, and are a better storage solution for quick selection. Joanie's Tips also recommends shoe, and purse bags for travel to keep things nice, and separated, keeping up with your organization. Google them, they are inexpensive. Whether you have a reach in, or walk in closet, you will have a great sense of accomplishment with rediscovering your wardrobe.
